Maximise Production Efficiency with A Print and Apply Labeling System

Increase Labeling Efficiencies

Full integration between our label applicators and your choice of printer.

For the first time ever, our print and apply label applicator system enables single pass print, label & pack workstations. This means one operator, in a single process, can print and apply labels to bottles, cans, jars or any round product container, then box and load them onto pallets, ready to ship, in sync with your orders.

Did you know a single person can print a label, apply it to a bottle, pack, seal, and pallet boxes ready for delivery, at 18 bottles per minute? That’s over 1000 bottles per hour, or 8 thousand plus bottles per day – the equivalent of 10+ pallets of wine in a single 8-hour shift!

Print labels on the fly

Grow your business using label innovation as marketing.

Not only do fully integrated print and apply labeler workstations cause significant cuts in production costs, but they also mean you can quickly and easily innovate your marketing with labeling. This was far too expensive for smaller manufacturers to consider in the past. Below, we list just a few ways on-demand print and apply labeling systems can be used to power your marketing or open new markets.

Make special offers on labels, produce limited editions, produce custom labels to wholesale client specifications, e.g. customers own brand, enable special ordering, for example, corporate gift orders, special event orders, e.g. for weddings, Christmas or any other major event.

The ability to print and apply full-colour labels on the fly opens entirely new markets and marketing possibilities, the only limit is your capacity to imagine and innovate.

Frequently Asked Questions

The following FAQs relate to inkjet printers in general, which includes our Epson range. Please carefully read the below FAQs to ensure the label finish you want is going to be compatible with an inkjet printer. Let us know if you have any questions, or visit our Help & Support page for troubleshooting and instructions.

We don’t recommend doing this, as it will absorb a lot of ink and the label material will need to have a frosted finish for the ink to show, meaning outside the ink won’t be truly transparent (think of your grandparents frosted bathroom window).

If you have your heart set on a transparent label, SATO printers can achieve a great result, however it’s a single colour printer only. We see the most striking and eye-catching results with either black on clear or white on clear labels, especially when your product has a colourful container or filling.

Yes – you’ll need inkjet compatible paper to ensure that your Epson ink is water resistant, UV resistant, smudge resistant and more. Using a label not designed for inkjets will mean your label may smudge or quickly fade once on your product.

You will always need to use an inkjet receptive media; however, the Epson inks are certified to be used with GHS certified media for maximum durability.

Absolutely! For inkjet labels, we work with two companies in Australia who have both matt and gloss label readily available.

If you decide to go for pre-printed label after all, we can certainly recommend a great label maker to assist you, just let us know what sort of vision you have in mind for your labels so we can recommend the best fit.

Neither our inkjet nor thermal print solutions will allow you to print directly on textured paper unless it has a laminate over it. Textured or uncoated paper is best done through a digital press or your preferred label maker.

You won’t be able to use an inkjet printer to add embossing, raised label surfaces, foil or any of those other finishes you’ll find from a digital printing press. Inkjet printers are a great choice if you’re looking for a professional-looking, full-colour label and flexibility at your fingertips without the high price-tag per label.

Inkjet printers are made up of four base colours, CMYK, which stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. White ink is unstable by nature, so if you’re wanting to purchase blank rolls of labels with a single background colour, this is only recommended when the background colour is light and you are printing darker colours, for best impact.

Keep in mind that CMYK can’t make white, so we advise opting for a white label base when possible.

  1. We recommend opting for matt printer ink and matt labels if you need a jet-black ink result. Please keep in mind that you can either print gloss or matt labels in the printer, but not both, due to software settings during the initialisation. Most customers choose gloss ink and still achieve great results when using either the gloss or matt ‘finish’ options available in the print settings. Please send us a sample of your labels if you have any concerns, so we can help find the best choice for you.
  2. We don’t recommend using transparent/clear labels, unless they are ‘frosted’.
  3. White is not an available print colour, but you can utilise the white space on your blank label as your ‘white’ by printing colour around it.

We sell all consumables related to our range of inkjet printers.

Our GE Interface allows you to connect your printer and label applicator in real time, so every time you apply a label, you trigger the printer to print the next label in the batch.

A rewinder allows you to print in your own time, then take the rolls and either store them as back up or put them directly into the applicator.

Printing without either of these options will mean that you can only print around 20 labels at a time, as the printer will send them all out at once. If you need to print 100+ labels, you will have a difficult time applying the labels without getting them twisted and tangled.

If you only need to print very small amounts of many different products, it may be feasible for you to keep printing small amounts from the printer, rather than using one of our solutions.

Both the GE Interface and Rewinder can be added at a later date.
